“What would happen if the Beastie Boys collaborated with Mr. Rogers? The answer is found on the Imagination Movers’ three critically acclaimed indie CDs: “Calling All Movers,” “Good Ideas,” and “Eight Feet” and their first national release “Juice Box Heroes.” Oh and don’t forget they also have an award-winning, grass roots DVD “Stir It Up” to throw in the mix too.  Indeed, the Movers sing about things they know: messy rooms, healthy snacks, sibling rivalry and other topics that relate to being a little kid. Their musical style, however, would sound right at home on a weekly MTV countdown.

The Movers – Rich, Scott, Dave and Smitty — began in New Orleans in 2003 and now are fast-rising stars on the national kids music scene thanks to their combination of radio-friendly songs, kid-friendly themes and dynamic live shows. In concert, the Movers teach high-energy dances, play games with the audience and make music on their one-of-a-kind trashcan drumset. Kids and parents help perform new kids classics like “Shakable You,” “The Medicine Song,” “What’s in the Fridge?” and “I Want My Mommy (Time for Bed).”

The Movers are a big hit on national satellite radio and Radio Disney, where many of their songs remain in heavy rotation. They have also won a total of 14 national music awards and were named a “Parenting Pick” by Parenting Magazine as far back as May 2005. Even now, an ongoing tour of U.S. cities creates new Movers fans (affectionately known as “Gearheads”) in the wake of every show.

‘Based largely on the original concept created by the Movers themselves in 2003, Disney Channel debuted a new television series in 2008 featuring Rich, Scott, Dave and Smitty as blue-collar brainstormers working hard to solve “Idea Emergencies” in their Idea Warehouse, a clearinghouse of infinite inspirations. Through songs, stories and hijinks, Imagination Movers moves kids to exercise their bodies and brains.

The Imagination Movers are a New Orleans based children’s group. Their live preformances are so electrifying and fun it is so hard not to get up and dance and sing along! They are not your typical children’s musical group. Their songs are enjoyable for the young and old alike. From singing about growing up, cleaning your room, health food and brushing your teeth, the Imagination Mover’s make learning fun!

My daughter and I have been fans of the Imagination Movers for some time now. I am born and raised in Louisiana as is my daughter and we have both enjoyed watching them blossom from local fair playing to the Disney channel and beyond. We are excited and gearing up for their concert tour! The Live from the Idea Warehouse tour kicks off in Shreveport Louisiana Saturday October 10, 2009 and after stops in 24 other states the Imagination Mover’s end their tour in Washington State on December 13, 2009!

The second season of their hit Disney Channel show, Imagination Movers, kicks off September 5, 2009! The Mover’s along with Warehouse Mouse, Nina and Knit Knots solve probelms using their imagination! Nothing is too big or too small for the Mover’s! The new season on Playhouse Disney will include over 25 new songs by The Mover’s! Guest stars this season include Cheri Oteri (“Saturday Night Live”) as a slightly bumbling tooth fairy, Joey Fatone (‘N Sync, “Dancing with the Stars”) as a baseball player, Nancy O’Dell (“Access Hollywood”) as a sportscaster, Willie Garson (“Sex and the City”) as a famous bicyclist, Grammy Award-winning blues artist Chris Thomas King (“O Brother Where Art Thou”) as musician T-Bone Crosby, Duff Goldman (“Ace of Cakes”) as a baker, Joshua Gomez (“Chuck”) as a pirate, and Disney Channel stars Jason Dolley (“Good Luck Charlie”) and Nicole Anderson (“JONAS”) as Prince Charming and Cinderella.
