Rosetta Stone, Rosetta Stone, where for art thou Rosetta Stone! For so long, I have been wanting to get this for my oldest son and my younger children. My oldest son is language challenged, to say the least. He grew up as a youngster in a Spanish speaking household while I cared for my grandparents. Do you think he learned a spit of Spanish? No! He can understand it a bit, but speaking it – completely out of the question! He just didn’t have it in him to learn to speak it. He even took Spanish his freshman year in high school and failed miserably! I kept telling him that I was going to work on getting him Rosetta Stone.
I do speak Spanish, I am an Ameri-rican after all. Albeit not perfectly, but enough to carry on a complete conversation and can understand it completely. I do speak some of it here around our home, like “A comer” (time to eat), “Get my llaves” (keys), “La basura” (a cue for him to take out the trash), “Eso no se hace” (That is not ok to do) and my favorite “Los bagos (or flojos depending on dialect) trabajan dos veces” (Lazy people work twice as hard).
Still, nothing sticks in his head. My youngest children have shown great interest in learning and often ask me how to say things in Spanish. This gave me such hope that at least one or two of my children would continue on a part of our heritage. With that happening, I wanted Rosetta Stone even more!
“The Rosetta Stone method unlocks your natural ability to learn a language. Even if you’ve tried and failed with other methods before, you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll learn with our method. I received the Rosetta Stone Spanish (Latin America) Level 1 which included everything needed in order to begin teaching my children Spanish. My children were able to create their own users giving it personalization. It’s interactive platform began unlocking the natural language learning ability in all my children. “Rosetta Stone language learning solution is used by schools, organizations and millions of individuals in over 150 countries throughout the world.
