I was fortunate enough to recieve Linda Thieman’s book, Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story. My son was home when it arrived. He is 7 years old and an avid reader. As soon as he got it in his hands, he sat down on the couch and didn’t stop reading it until he was finished. He absolutely loved the book. I thought that since he had read it and loved it so much, I had to read it.
Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story is a wonderful book about a 9 year old girl named Katie, that moves into a new home and comes across an unlikely friend named Kimble. Katie has a dog named Twinkle that always stays by her side. Katie becomes great friends with Kimble and wants to help her out. The book is extremely well-written and is easy to follow for a child, as well as adult. I think I loved the book as much as my son did!
“Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story, the first book in a chapter book series for ages 7-10, has all the elements that will keep this notoriously short-attentioned audience enraptured: a ghost, mysteries, secrets, danger, friendship, religious intrigue. Nine-year-old Katie Russell and her family LOOK like a normal family. But the Russells don’t know they are living with Kimble, the ghost of a ten-year-old girl. That is, until Katie discovers Kimble and the two of them set off on a quest to find out what happened to Kimble’s mother. This is a story for the ages, with everything it needs to stay interesting from beginning to end.”
It was very easy for my son to relate to Katie because we had just moved to our new home when he read it. I believe that my son could also relate to Kimble because he had lost someone very dear to him.

Linda Thieman has created such a wonderful book that I feel should be a must-read for every school. I can’t express what a great book this is. You can visit Katie & Kimble’s blog and read the first 6 chapters of the book. Once you do, you will get sucked in and want to read more. There is also an Activity Corner that has activities you can do with your child that relate to each book she has written so far. It is a wonderful way to engage your child in the story they have read.
Linda Thieman has graciously offered to give three of our readers the chance to each win a copy of Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story!
